Digital radio is an audio broadcasting system, which is distinguished by the emission of a digital signal. Currently there are several known digital broadcasting systems with worldwide impact, for example: IBOC (In-band On-channel), DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting), DRM (Digital Radio Mondiale). Some digital TV systems are also well suited to the broadcast of sound broadcasts. The following aspects are demonstrated: the technological change is the main generator of development opportunities for the radio-phonic sector, since it is constituted around the platform of its second great re-conversion and what the emergence of a new model of radio production based on technological innovation has transformed radio into cyber-medium communication. In conclusion, the pillars of this transformation are sustained by changes in basic: informational and telecommunications technology, and by the incorporation digital computer science technical processes in radio.
