Celebrate World Radio Day with myTuner Radio

World Radio Day is an observance day held annually on 13 February.  This day was proclaimed on 2011 by the United Nations and the date marks the anniversary of the day the United Nations established United Nations Radio in 1946. World Radio Day is a day to celebrate and remember the way radio touches peoples lives and brings democratic debate, information, entertainment and sense of togetherness to people from all corners of the world.

Interestingly, just like World Radio Day myTuner Radio was also created in 2011. It started as an iOS exclusive app, with less than 10,000 radio stations from 80 different countries, in a single language (English). Six years have passed and myTuner Radio is now available in more than 20 different languages, to over 30 million users worldwide. We have a unique database with more than 50,000 radio stations from 200 countries and we also offer other interesting features such as podcasts, top radio songs charts and a full integration with Apple Music, so people can listen to their favorite songs and playlists without having to leave myTuner Radio.

World Radio Day 2018 will focus on diversity in sports coverage, gender equality in sports coverage and peace and development through sports coverage. On this day, radios will celebrate this special date with an event or an on-air program. You can celebrate World Radio Day by listening to your favorite sports stations. myTuner Radio features numerous sports radio stations for you to choose from. Plus, you can search by country, state or city, or genre and you can listen to them on all major platforms. myTuner Radio is available for mobile apps for iOS, Android, Samsung, Amazon and Windows Phone, for desktop devices, Windows and Mac, for connected devices like Apple TV, Apple Watch and Google Wearables, and it is also on the web.

myTuner Radio joins radio stations and other organizations alike in this day that celebrates radio as a medium and gives people from all over the world a chance to strengthen diversity, peace and development, just by being connected to radios of the world through myTuner Radio, no matter where you are in the globe.
