About Capital XTRA London

Capital XTRA is a London radio station that is owned by Global and that began broadcasting in 1990 on 96.9 and 107.1 MHz in the FM band. This station broadcasts contemporary Grime, Hip Hop and R'n'B music.
Capital XTRA formerly known as Choice 96.9 was aired for the first time as an independent company, on 31 March 1990 from studios in Trinity Gardens, Brixton. It was Britain’s first 24-hour black music radio station with a license, covering South London.
In 1995 the group won a second licence of what would be a version of this local station (London's "Choice") but in Birmingham, that is Choice FM Birmingham on 102.2 FM.
Capital XTRA currently reaches 1.8 million people across the UK.
