Dieselgoth seamlessly integrates the skeletal, DIY aesthetic of early 80s pioneers with contemporary coldwave revivalists, flowing naturally into darkwave, perhaps the most evocative genre in the repertoire. By blending the organic melancholy of post-punk with the atmospheric possibilities of synthesizers, darkwave creates a mood that is uniquely "Rechenbergian." It is the sound of a rainy city street at 3:00 AM. lonely, beautiful, and profoundly atmospheric. To ensure the mix never becomes too ethereal, DieselGoth 2 frequently dips into the heavy, rhythmic machinery of industrial music. Whether it’s the "old school" EBM (Electronic Body Music) pulse or dark electro or aggrotech, adding the abrasive textures of rhythmic noise, these selections add a necessary layer of tension and grit.
