We have created 26RC126 Crosslink Radio Network because we want to get everyone from different backgrounds communicating to each other whilst they can still use their existing equipment in a way that is accessible for everybody. The most unique thing about us is that you don’t need the internet to connect to our network because any phone (including “Nokia Bricks,” other flip phones, and landlines) can theoretically dial in to our network, which means you do not need an app or an account. We also support older systems all the way down to Windows 95. Not only that but we aim for accessibility and optimising communications quite broadly that the downstream effects make it appealing for people who may simply just want to talk; since they won’t have to buy anything else, they can just use their SIM cards or their landline. This makes up interesting cases such as a CB operator talking to someone that’s on the phone, and vice versa. At the time of writing, we are one of the very few minority that actually offer telephone connections to our network; which stands out because not even amateur radio networks are allowed to offer that the same way we are in the UK. Essentially: no app, no account, no licence, no internet is required at all, even to access our radio gateways. The most minimum requirement is landline that can call +44 1452 207107, or if you want to avoid costs, a mobile phone with a SIM card offering free phone calls.
