Ella Fitzgerald, The Queen of Jazz

Known as the first Lady of Song, Queen of Jazz or Lady Ella, Ella Fitzgerald was one of the most popular female jazz singers of all time. 

Today, April 25, is the 98th anniversary of her birth.

Winner of thirteen Grammy Awards and a Presidential Medal of Freedom, Ella became a legend in the Jazz World.

Her collaboration with Louis Armstrong in “Summertime” is considered one of the best in music history.

 

Her last performance was three years before her death in 1993, putting an end to a career of sixty years.

Nineteen years after she passed away her work continues to be listened and respected and she will always be remember as The Queen of Jazz.
