The16 years-old phenomenon Shawn Mendes reached last week the peak of the Billboard Chart with his new album “Handwritten”.
With this conquest, Shawn is the youngest artist having a number 1 album in 5 years, since Justin Bieber in 2010.
According to the recordist, the secret for this achievement "was a mix of really hard work and a bit of luck, right time and right place,…”.
The Canadian-born musician started his rise to fame posting covers in Vine.
His first post to Vine was a six-second clip singing “As Long As You Love Me” by Justin Bieber, back in August 2013. Overnight that post reached the 10.000 likes.
Now the singer counts with 3.9 million Vine followers. “Mendes Army” is how his fans call themselves.
Mendes has a busy 2015 ahead of him, most notably as an opener for some date on Taylor Swift's "1989 World Tour.”
