The South tend to like country music, New Yorkers love their New York rappers and so on.
To reinforce this theory Youtube shared some data about the musical preferences of some American cities.
According to YouTube, the numbers are determined by "how many views a certain artist had on YouTube in 2015 in each city, in comparison to the average popularity across [American] cities.”
